Our research team's exciting new work makes the front cover of Advanced Photonics. The work demonstrates the capability to distribute hybrid vector vortex-polarization entangled photon pairs at telecom wavelength, through a specially designed air-core fiber.

Distributing non-classical correlation through optical fibers is a crucial and challenging milestone for realizing a future quantum network. Recent works have shown transmission of polarization entangled photons over long distance with fiber, and yet further improvement is achievable with higher dimensional systems such as orbital angular momentum of light.

In collaboration with Sapienza University of Rome, we demonstrated the capability to distribute hybrid vector vortex-polarization entangled photon pairs at telecom wavelength, through a specially designed air-core fiber that allows the propagation of orbital angular momentum.
